The Rising Star Project

It was the 80’s. My hair was big, my brows were uni and my gums were swollen from my braces. I was a sight to behold! As I think back to my tween years, nearing my grand entry into middle school I had all kinds of mixed emotions. Was I ready? Was I good enough? Wanting to be noticed and unnoticeable all at the same time. Fast forward 30 years and here I sit watching my own daughter making her way into the unfamiliar land of tweenville. All I want for her is to know her worth, know that she is loved and valued. Know that she is a Rising Star.

Let’s face it, babies are so cute, soft and chubby. Toddlers have those big, bright eyes and just do the darnedest things that entertain the whole room. But those tween ages are often forgotten. At ages 10-12, kids aren’t children anymore but aren’t quite teens.

I’m making it my personal mission to capture those lost preteen years. The goal is to help tweens look and feel beautiful and have unshakable confidence in themselves when they hit middle school.

In comes the “Rising Star” project
We are starting the “Rising Star” photography project to fill in the forgotten photo years while enriching the lives of pre-teens. The main goal is to make pre-teens feel beautiful, and find their confidence in their uniqueness.

Who we’re looking for
We are looking for female models for our photography project, ages 9-12. We will ask the model and their parents a few questions, then combine the text and photographs to create one impactful piece of art.

Why “Rising Star”?
We want to capture the the personality of these tweens and record the last stage of their childhood before they become young ladies. We want them to realize their true beauty so that they are confident in themselves before they hit middle school. Imagine the impact a single beautiful image can do for your tweens self-image. We feel that with confidence and a positive self image, our girls can go forward into their difficult middle years as a Rising Star in their schools.

How to participate or nominate a friend:
Please email us by Friday, February 2nd if you are interested in having your child participate in this project, or if you would like to nominate a friend or family member of yours that you think would be perfect for the boutique experience we provide. Our goal is to create a gorgeous group of photos you’ll love and that truly show your daughter’s spirit and soul! Our session fee is $150 and our portrait collections start at $345.

After you email us through the contact tab above or at molly@mollybeapix.com, we will send you specific details and you can decide if this project is perfect for your daughter or nominated friend.

Rising star sounds like a fantastic idea Molly! I would love Kendall to be a part of this. I see her struggling lately finding her way & what a wonderful opportunity to show her how special she is!

Adison Green is my beautiful step-daughter. She just turned 12 years old this month. She is an absolute doll and this project would do wonders for her self-esteem. This sounds like a great idea Molly. Your daughter, Vivian is such a sweet girl too by the way. Her pictures are great!

I’m very interested in this for my Maggie. What an inspiring and empowering movement you have going! If you ever decided to do something similar for boys in this same juncture in life I have another one of my kiddos in mind. Thank you for spreading positivity!

I love love this Molly. I would love to pay for this for my niece Kenidee. Kenidee is a 10 year old girl living through the recent divorce of her parents and the loss of a grandparent while going through this tweeny age. She needs to see herself through God’s eyes and the gem she is to her heavenly Father. I can PayPal you. Message me!

I love this idea! It’s brilliant. I would love to have my 11 year old rockstar photographed in all of her pre-pubescent glory.
