Family Love

A couple of weeks ago I made the trip back to my hometown of Findlay, Ohio for several family photo shoots. My best friend, also from the area, met up with me and was named my “assistant” slash just because it’s fun partner for the weekend. It’s amazing how nostalgic it all was for me. I must be getting old. I felt like my Dad when he used to take us to his old stomping grounds and we’d roll our eyes as we passed by his old houses and such. I’m him now. Ahhhh!!! So much so that I even went up to the door of the house I grew up in, now owned by University of Findlay, and asked the students who were moving out if I could come in and walk around. Strange. My mom was a MUCH better decorator….obviously. It was so very “dorm room” like. Yuck! Still a good time none the less. We enjoyed seeing how Findlay has changed over the years, and then LOVED meeting up with a couple close high school friends… which brings us to my first family session of the weekend.

Lindsay and I graduated together and have been friends since middle school. I have soooo many fond (yes, I just used the word fond) memories with her and all of our friends at her house. Her Mom and Dad were troopers. Many, many weekend sleep overs which always included the following things: pizza rolls, chocolate pop tarts, and make overs. Lindsay was the expert make-up gal, in fact she did my hair and make-up for our wedding. :-) We’ve been able to keep in touch over the years, meeting up every now and then but certainly not as much as we all would want to, but of course fb has kept us all connected. So, when she asked me to come photograph her family after her fourth beautiful baby was born, I was honored and so excited. The Norman clan started my weekend off right with perfect lighting and properly bribed children who were promised ice cream after an easy session with me. They were perfect. :-) I just loved capturing the love and personality of all of them. Hopefully, this is the first of many sessions with the Normans in the future. Enjoy a peek at a family that loves God and each other whole heartedly.

Love is in the cool, crisp air people! I was thrilled to capture this cuddly couple recently on this cold snowy day. As much as I am so very over this weather, I have to say, I sure do love photographing in it. They looked just adorable and the contrast against the white snow was stunning. My Little Valentines

I was so excited to photograph my kiddos this year for Valentine’s day and make some picture Valentine cards for their class parties. Vivi was up first. I’m not going to lie, having a girl is a good time. Loved getting my blondie all dressed up, yes, red lips and all. As she gets older it’s becoming easier and easier to photograph her. She thinks it’s kind of fun now, which makes it super fun for me too! Here are a few from my shoot with Vivi Jo.

And then there is my crazy cute Bode boy. These pictures just make me smile. I love it that with a little good ol fashion bribery, this kid has become a natural in front of the camera. He was feeling pretty cool in his black jacket.

Family Friends

Always a pleasure to photograph this fine family! Mike and Traci our close friends of ours who moved to Indiana about 5 years ago, I believe. Traci is amazing photographer so it’s always a complete joy for us to get together and chat on the subject…and of course take some pictures as well. During a visit recently, I was able to capture a few of their adorable family before they took off to go back home. I so wish they still lived here!!
